What quite surprised me when reviewing the fuel consumption figures for the Nissan Micra is that except for the 1.2L manual my wife's car which is a Holden Astra made in 2000 (manual) is more fuel efficient in terms of efficiency when new. The Astra has a 1.8L fuel injected engine. It really is a poor reflection on the car industry when a 13 year old car with a bigger engine has a better fuel efficiency. That isn't something I would have expected and will make me review carefully the fuel efficiency of cars in the future.
