McDonald's Monopoly rare pieces 2013

Over the years we’ve played a number of collect the pieces from McDonald’s but never won a prize other the a food voucher. That’s OK because in the end it’s just a promotion and some lucky people end up winning and that’s their good fortune. It’s pretty obvious the rare pieces are only printed the number of times for the prize but the other pieces could be printed tens, if not hundreds of thousands of times. It doesn’t take long to collect two pieces of the same type and that’s a good indication they aren’t the rare pieces.

So here’s the pieces we’ve collected more than once.

Mayfair
Angel Islington

Because Mayfair is one two, that means Park Lane is the rare piece.

If you’ve got multiple pieces of the one piece feel free to let others know. In the end it almost certainly won’t affect your chances of winning, but at least you’ll know if you’ve got the rare piece or just one of the many.

UNITED STATES 2013 MONOPOLY UPDATE

I noticed McDonald's Monopoly2013 has started in the United States. The following are the rare pieces.

(20) Mediterranean Avenue
(15) Vermont Avenue
(3) Virginia Avenue
(1) Tennessee Avenue
(40) Kentucky Avenue
(2) Ventnor Avenue
(15) Pennsylvania Avenue
(2) Boardwalk
(4) Short Line

There is information which indicates Boardwalk is on a Big Mac.

Good luck.

If you read later in the comments you'll see I'm located in Australia. Our McDonalds Monopoly recently finished. I suspect you're in the UK where McDonalds Monopoly Fusion 2013 recently started. In the comments below you'll see the rare pieces for the UK from what I can determine on the internet.

Hope that helps clear up the confusion.

No. Unfortunately a Game Ticket cannot be transferred by you, to any other person, whether by gift, sale or otherwise. A Ticket that has been transferred is invalid and therefore, a prize claim that includes any Ticket that has been so transferred is invalid.

  14. I have duplicates of pretty much all of the common pieces now. These are the pieces that I think are the rare ones:

Whitehall (Pink, AUS102 - Dreamworld Pack).
Regent Street (Green, AUS207 - Californian Holiday).
Piccadilly (Yellow, AUS306 - LG Home Ent Pack).
    Fleet Street (Red, AUS404 - $5000 Cash).
Marlborough (Orange, AUS506 - Valeska Jewellery).

Park Lane (Blue, AUS809 - Kia Rio Car).

  15. When claiming the instant prizes I was in drive-through and asked if you could claim more than one and the answer was no. You can only claim one per order even though the order was for three people. Makes sense because ultimately the game is a marketing exercise for Maccas and prizes means repeat business and possibly another order.

Interestingly I asked if I had to buy anything and the answer was no. So I said it would be OK to drive back around and place another order just for the prize the answer was yes. I just walked inside and picked up the additional free item.

In the terms and conditions it reads:

21.Subject to Condition, an Entrant may, during the Promotional Period, claim the Instant Win Food Prize stated on their Winning Instant Win Food Ticket by handing over their Winning Instant Win Food Ticket to a crew member at a McDonald's Restaurant at the time of placing or purchasing an order at the McDonald's Restaurant ("Order").

This would read that you can place an order (nothing about buying anything) or purchase an order, so that confirms my experience.

In the end however I've found it best to err on the side of conservatism because some ,rightly or wrongly, may interpret the rules differently and it isn't worth the energy.

Hope others are having fun with their instant wins.

    Kelvin.

  20. Has anyone actually got a set?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Certainly not our family:-) Quite a few small instant prizes. Changes of winning a big prize I suspect would be quite small.

Reading the terms and conditions it states "a maximum of 96,702,979 Tickets". That means to win a car (there are two unique tickets) just to get those tickets is around one in 50 million. About the same as winning first prize in Saturday Tattslotto.

There are 400 collect-to-win prizes (collect a set of tickets) which means the chances of winning based on a set is around one in 250,000. There is a total of 19,342,221 prizes which is why there is roughly a one in five chance of winning a prize. A few million of those prizes, to me at least, have dubious value. A prize where you have to purchase something to get something to me isn't a prize, it is a discount offer.

However a prize is a prize and if you receive a prize by participating and not spending any more than you normally would, then you've got something for nothing and that's not a bad outcome. If you upsize to get more tickets however, you may just find you may have ended up paying more than the prize is worth.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's weird. McDonald's is unlikely to run a competition where they could potentially give away multiple cars. If everyone who says they have a Park Lane does, and we have around four Mayfair tokens. That's potentially four cars when there's only one car to be won via collect the tickets.

      Kelvin

  29. They have to print multiple winning combinations as they have to take into account the people who eat then bin the rubbish as they're not bothered about a competition if they only printed park lane once then it could end up at the dump very easily.

    1. Another possibility is McDonalds UK Monopoly started on March 20th and Park Lane could be common. My logs show an increase in people coming from the UK. If this is the case and you're from the UK, add UK to your comment and we can work out the rare pieces for the UK.

    1. That is gut wrenching. Sorry to hear about your loss Mike. Your post may just have improved tourism in Airlie Beach. Again sorry to hear.

Based on my logs I'm fairly confident those multiple Park Lanes were from people in the UK. McDonalds really in my opinion wouldn't risk having multiple people claim the one prize, so logically only one Park Lane for Australia. IMHO.

  32. Believe it or not I actually sent an email to the Whitsunday Times only this morning with my tale of woe with the idea to share the car if anyone found it. I wish I could simply say "Oh well"

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Perhaps you may wish to place a lost-and-found ad in Gumtree. I believe it is free and you could put it in as Airlie Beach. Even offer a reward. Perhaps with the article to the Whitsunday Times offer a reward which might help get the article published.

Also keep in mind the terms and conditions. A ticket can't be transferred so someone finding the ticket may find it hard to claim the prize (since they aren't the one who carefully removed the ticket from the packaging) if you let McDonalds know, but that means a reward is very valuable and a good incentive for people to help you find it.

I doubt if you'll ever find the ticket, but perhaps those thoughts might help.
